They operate on 110V, and are compact and portable, with no hookup or installation required. Finally, they cost much less than a conventional clothes dryer.

WonderWash™ Portable Mini Washing Machine

When you put warm or hot water into the drum, fit the lid in place and seal the machine,the air inside the drum absorbs the heat of the water and expands (just like a hot air balloon), creating pressure inside the drum. The pressure forces the detergent (which is diluted into the water) into and through the fabric (which is porous) 100 times faster than by hand or conventional machine.
